I found a lovely email in my inbox this morning from one of the sites I subscribe to. In it was a link to an article about how to use crystals and gemstones to enhance your sexuality. Yep – rocks as aphrodesiacs. If you’re not familiar with crystal healing or the body’s chakra system, this may sound a bit odd, but once you look at it through your “everything is vibrational energy” lenses, you’ll see what I mean This short piece by MiaRose is from the SpiritualNetworks site. It offers some tips on how to use the stones, and what kind of aphrodesiac qualities different stones have.

Crystal Aphrodesiacs

My love of crystals has led me to the discovery that crystals are powerful aphrodisiacs with the power to activate the subtle sexual centres in the body. When the base and sacral chakras are stimulated, erotic energy is highly charged, inhibitions are removed, and love is given and exchanged freely.

One way to enhance your sex life with crystals is for you and your lover to place stones on each other as part of foreplay or to gently rub rounded tumbled stones between your bodies during lovemaking. Alternatively, chuck a few aphrodisiac crystals around your bedroom and under your pillow for an irresistible aura of love.

Here are a few of the best crystal aphrodisiacs:

• Pink Tourmaline is a beautiful stone that stimulates libido and encourages you to share physical pleasure with your lover.
• Red Jasper stimulates your sex drive and prolongs sexual pleasure. It also energizes and cleanses the sex organs.
• Orange Carnelian is a recharging crystal with the power to energize creative centres, overcome impotence, and restore vitality to the female sexual organs.
• Smoky Quartz helps to heal hang-up about sexual matters, enhances virility, and cleanses the sexual centres so that your passion flows freely.
• Rose Quartz opens your heart centre, and restores love and trust between you and your lover. It is also believed to increase fertility.

Serendipity

We were driving over to visit some family last weekend. It’s about a 3 hour journey through the stunning countryside along the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, and near abouts Colorado’s impressive plateau – the Grand Mesa. Along the way, I suddenly felt the urgent call of nature and was looking for a place to stop.

I saw a sign for a rest area – pretty much out in the middle of nowhere – but I accidentally turned too soon. Instead of a picnic area and out house, I was in front of a little shop that looked like it sold bottled water, fishing gear and tourist flotsam. Well, all that was true, but it so happens that the shop owner has been a crystal and gemstone dealer for about 30 years and his shop was, most of all, a rock shop.

I had been wanting some tumbled rose quartz for my new angel altar, so I got really excited picking through a huge basket of stones. When my dawdling took longer than a ahem, tinkle, my partner came looking for me and he too, got to perusing the shop.

One stone drew him quickly – a flat slice of Labradorite about the size of a drink coaster. It had the most beautiful hues of gold, green and blue. He bought it on the spot and we made our way to our weekend destination.

Mental Bliss

On our first night back home, I unwrapped the stone and we took turns examining it. Both of us noted that as soon as we held it, it felt like the ‘off’ switch got flipped on the mental chatter of our minds. Later, when we went to bed, I did a little experiment and lay for about a half hour with it on my forehead.

I tell you – it was bliss!

Now I never considered myself especially sensitive to the energies of the crystals. Over time I’ll notice subtle changes when working with a particular stone, but this experience was really different. This was immediate and strong. It put me into such a peaceful state that I fell asleep shortly after passing the stone to my mate.

Properties

In the morning, he reported that he followed suit, placing the Labradorite on his forehead and immediately ‘blissing out’. So we looked up Labradorite to see what we could find. Turns out, it’s great for many things, including calming the mind. This particular healing aspect makes it great for anyone dealing with fear, a hyper-active ‘monkey’ mind or kids diagnosed with ADHD.

Here’s a few other things we found out …

• Encourages positivity
• Calms and centers you under stress or when dealing with stressful people
• Strengthening & used to combat physical weakness
• Strengthening intuition
• Healing harmful emotional and psychic states
• Increasing vitality
• Improving perseverance and patience
• Expanding spiritual awareness

I’m eager to work with this stone more. With a busy mind like mine, I’m thinking Labradorite may become one of my true and lasting friends!

A Quick Guide to Using Crystals for Healing

You can perform a quick crystal healing wherever you are. By holding a crystal in your hand, it acts as a conduit to connect its energy and your energy with Universal Healing Energy. Even taking a brief pause to admire a crystal for its beauty will lighten your mood on a hectic day.

Crystal energy is not “New Age” nonsense. It is old age. Crystals were used in ancient civilizations as their power source. Even now, crystals are used in radios, computers and other electronic instruments. In order to start crystal energy flowing, it is only necessary to acknowledge the possibility that you can receive life energy from your chosen crystal.

How to Select Crystals for Healing

I prefer to use the single-point, colorless quartz for quick healing purposes. Crystals may be purchased at your local mineral shop, some flea markets or antique stores. I wouldn’t suggest ordering a healing crystal via the Internet, as it’s imperative to “connect” with your chosen crystal.

In addition to single-point, crystals form in clusters, double terminated points and chunks. You will also find colored quartz, which is formed from mineral traces. Purple or amethyst contains traces of iron; rose or pink crystals are created with traces of manganese or titanium; smoky crystals contain various minerals. Whatever their size or shape, all contain an energy pattern unique to the particular crystal.

Size isn’t critical, but my favorite quick healing crystal is approximately 1½ inches in length. I have small hands and it fits nicely in my fisted hand. Try holding several sizes, shapes and colors in either hand until one “speaks” to you. Hold the crystal point towards your head, so that you and your crystal can synchronize energies.

I can’t precisely describe how you and your crystal will connect, but I can assure you that you will. Some people feel pleasant warmth spreading throughout their body, while others experience a peaceful feeling. Take your time and choose your crystal with loving care.

Crystal Energy Connects Your Energy with Universal Energy

Note: All the crystals I work with were gifted to me and blessed for my use, by my Psychic Mentor, who taught me how to use crystals for healing. Since you may not have that luxury, I suggested places to purchase your healing crystal.

Spend time getting to know your healing crystal. Hold it in your fisted hand and, in general, imagine oneness between you and it. Hold the crystal up to sunlight and enjoy the beautiful colors reflect through it.

When you are ready, proceed.

How to Perform a Quick Crystal Healing

1. Hold your healing crystal in a fisted hand a few moments and let the crystal’s energy “turn on”.
2. Begin to creatively visualize crystal energy pouring over the part of your physical body that requires attention.
3. Imagine Universal Energy flowing throughout your physical body.
4. Be silent and open your awareness for further healing guidance.
5. Remove the crystal from your fisted hand and sit a few minutes until you feel ready to rejoin the present.

Potential Discomfort from a Quick Crystal Healing

When crystal energy connects your energy with Universal Energy, expect a powerful final result. However, until you build up tolerance to these unfamiliar energies, side effects may be experienced. If the following potential side effects cause too much discomfort, discontinue the healing session and try again later.

1. Queasiness in stomach – this signifies the energies are too powerful to handle until you are more experienced. Wait about a week and try again.
2. Numbness in extremities – the energy flowing from your healing crystal to you is vibrating at a rate you cannot accept yet. Stop your session and the numbness will subside.
3. Headache in center of forehead – crystal energy is over-stimulating your mind’s intuitive center. Again, stop the healing and try a couple of days later.

In this article, we have barely tapped the potentialities of crystal work by performing a quick crystal healing. But for now, it is enough to realize that when crystal energy connects your energy with Universal Energy, the miraculous can happen!

You may find it hard to believe, but crystals and minerals DO actually have healing properties. Although the science is not well understood, there is plenty of people, cultures, and history that advocate the use of particular crystals and gems for particular uses. Allow me to explain the basics.

Have you ever slept with a crystal under your pillow? Try it using amethyst or malachite and you will notice an obvious affect on your dreams. Open up to the idea that crystals can help heal your mental, physical, emotional, and/or spiritual state. Once you do, you will have a new hope and a new method for practical self-improvement through crystal healing.

Most Americans these days only believe in proven science. Well, everything IS science, but only some of it has been proven. Take our thoughts for an example. We all have thoughts, but we still can’t read them or prove them with scientific instruments. Here we get the “gray area” of Metaphysics. So, to believe in Crystals that Heal, you must understand that Metaphysics is science not yet proven.
